Quick Look Review: Transformers Prime Robots In Disguise Deluxe Wheeljack

Samurai Jack.

They’re both clad in white, they’re both beloved characters and most importantly… they both lost their swords.

Yup, I’ve got a Prime Wheeljack that’s missing his swords for cheap. Aside from that, he’s in good shape. Let’s take a look at this swordless samurai!

Robot mode

Wheeljack is looking pretty great in robot mode. He’s got good proportions, nice colours and a some very nicely handled vehicle mode kibble. Which is to say, he has almost none. And the kibble that he does have doesn’t get in the way of anything.

Wheeljack is pretty posable all around but he’s sorely missing some elbow swivels. He’s still very flexible and the joints he does have still help him pose like a pro. He’s certainly not a brick.

Vehicle mode

Wheeljack turns into a sports car and is highly reminiscent of his G1 car mode unlike some Wheeljacks. He’s got that Prime cartoon aesthetic but still looks reasonably realistic. The paint job is surprisingly well done for a mainline Deluxe that came after DOTM. There’s only one real thing that bugs me: the gap at the front of the car. It’s a minor complaint since the rest of the car mode is great.

For playability, Wheeljack can roll on all four wheels. He also has plugs to store his swords in car mode… if I had them.

Closing

Wheeljack is a great toy from the Prime line and makes me feel sad when I think about the some of the Deluxe scale stuff we got for Cyberverse. He’s a figure you should definitely pick up at some point, especially if he you can get him cheap.

He’s missing bicep swivels and his swords. I can and will fix one of those things
