Transformers Cyberverse Warrior Prowl Review

This guy’s a Cyberverse Warrior figure?

Seriously, Prowl really feels like a regular Deluxe figure. It’s a real headscratcher that of all people, he got such special treatment since quite a few of the Warriors were… compromised.

That question really bugged me when I handled this guy for the first time.

Anyway, that talk’s out of the way. How good is Prowl really? Is he good for a Cyberverse figure or is he just good in general?

Vehicle mode

Prowl’s a nice and tidy police car which suits him just nice. There’s no obvious gaps or flaws that take away from his vehicle mode. While the paint is honestly a bit scarce, it’s not terrible and Prowl still looks nice in this mode.

For playability, Prowl can roll really well in this mode since there’s no kibble. You can transform him into car mode with his cannons out on the hood but that’s not an official gimmick.

Transformation

The transformation exactly what you’d expect just by looking at both modes. It’s incredibly simple but also really fun to mindlessly do back and forth since it’s so easy.

Robot mode

Prowl’s robot mode is looking pretty good. While he unmistakably has the Cyberverse look to him, he wouldn’t look to out of place in any other Transformers series display. Also, he has enough paint apps in this mode to come out looking nicely detailed.

Prowl has a shocking amount of posability compared to most of the other Cyberverse Warriors. His head can move from side to side, his shoulders are ball-jointed and his elbows bend. His hips are ball-jointed, his knees bend and his feet can move backwards due to the transformation.

Gimmicks

Part of the reason Prowl has such a posable robot mode and nicely put together car mode is that his gimmick is unobtrusive. He has his iconic shoulder cannons in robot mode and they’re spring loaded!

In robot mode, pressing Prowl’s chest down brings up both his shoulder cannons at once. It’s a simple gimmick that works every time you try it. It’s honestly pretty addictive to do back and forth multiple times.

Toy or collectible?

Prowl’s a good toy that can be enjoyed by both adult collectors and young kids.

He’s got two good modes that have no glaring faults and a fun but unobtrusive gimmick. Also, he looks cool and feels nice to handle.

You can still get Prowl pretty cheaply online… when you can find him. Cyberverse stuff is getting to be a bit difficult to find these days which is weird. Cyberverse Warriors were clogging stores and online storefronts just a couple of months ago.

Closing

Prowl stands head and shoulders above a lot of Cyberverse figures because how uncompromised his car mode is, how much posability he has in robot mode as well as how well his gimmick works.

You should totally give him a shot since there aren’t too many readily available Prowl figures out right now.
